This Friday, December 3rd marks the second check point of the growing season, and the first opportunity to show off that excellent Thanksgiving growth. As you undoubtedly now know, gravy and turkey combine to promote mustache growth better than Rogaine. With Jack Frost blowing in this week, your mustache will soon grow to unthinkable proportions further promoting the M4K cause through the second half of the growing season. In case you have not checked recently, we have raised nearly $1,000 for CCMC so far this year, so come out and celebrate a strong start and propel your fellow growers into an even stronger finish.
Where: Wood’n’Tap, 99 Sisson Avenue, Hartford
When: Friday, December 3rd, 6:00pm
Website: http://www.woodntap.com/hartford.htm
Growers: don’t forget to shave down to just a mustache on Friday. If you’re are already sporting just a mustache without the training wheels that’s great, keep up the good work. If you have checks or cash that you have collected over the Thanksgiving holiday please do bring those; we are only tracking money-in-hand, so once it is in my hand we can continue to show progress to our $10,000 goal. If you can’t attend in person this week make sure to email or text me a photo, thanks.
Enthusiasts: come drink a few, and bring your friends. There is nothing more amusing than standing around a crowded bar surrounded by 20-30 men with mustaches, you are guaranteed to grin from ear to ear. There’s no better way to end the week.
See you all Friday. Good growing!

All,
This Tuesday, November 23rd is our first check point since clean shave day a week ago, and the last opportunity for encouragement prior to Thanksgiving. Not that you need encouragement, your mustache should already be boosting your confidence to new levels.
Where: Vaughan’s Public House, 59 Pratt Street, Hartford
When: Tuesday, November 23rd, 6:00pm
What: Cheap Irish beer and Irish food all night
Website: www.irishpublichouse.com
Growers: don’t forget to shave down to just a mustache on Tuesday. As part of M4K this will become the weekly ritual. This is also the best way to show progress to your followers which we are tracking in the Gallery. I would also recommend you take a few minutes to email your friends, family, coworkers, or anyone else you know who may contribute to your cause, and remind them why you are growing a mustache for the next month. Thanksgiving is a great time to gather contributions, though some relatives may appreciate a reminder to bring their checkbooks along with the cranberries and stuffing. If you can’t attend in person this week make sure to email or text me a photo, thanks.
Enthusiasts: come out for a Guinness draft, a shot of Irish Cream, and a general good time. This is the most difficult week in any grower’s season, so your support is needed now more than ever. Show up in force!
It is not too late to sign up, you’re just on the hairy edge. Register here ASAP and start growing today.
See you all Tuesday. Good growing!

This Wednesday, November 17th marks the official start to Hartford’s 3rd Annual Mustaches for Kids Growing Campaign!
Once you’ve stopped jumping up and down and cheering out loud from the excitement, read on for a few last minute reminders and logistics. Remember that our fundraising goal for this year is $10,000 and the children of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center are counting on you to once again make this a successful growing season. That means lots of donations, lots of super-awesome mustaches, and lots of fun in the process. To celebrate this historic event, we are kicking off the month with Clean Shave Day tomorrow, details as follows:
Where: Pigs Eye Pub, 356 Asylum Street, Hartford
When: Wednesday, November 17th, 6:00pm
What: Cheap, cheap beer all night
Website: www.pigseyepub.com
Growers: if you are attending Clean Shave Day, make sure you are clean shaven before arrival. This means, according to M4K bylaws, zero facial hair on Clean Shave Day. If you are unable to attend in person, you need to do 4 simple things: first, make sure you are registered (see below); second, shave; third, take a photograph of your shaven face and email it to me to post on the website; fourth, with that email, include a personal fundraising goal and either a picture or name of your mustache "role model" for the season. For all growers, start spreading the word today to remind your family, friends, and coworkers why you are growing a mustache for the next month (in four words: "It’s for the kids!").
Enthusiasts: come out to Pigs Eye and do what you do best. There are millions of mustache follicles that need your support to start sprouting.
Not registered yet? That’s ok, simply register here, send me an email, or come Wednesday and sign up in person. Some helpful material to get you going can all be found on the m4khartford website, or through these links for the 2010 Growers Kit, Overview, Poster, and Mascot Guide.
See you all on Wednesday. Good growing!

In anticipation of Clean Shave Day next week, we’ve arranged an information session / social event at 6:00 this Friday, November 12th at Half Door in Hartford. Stop by for a few hard-earned beers and hang out with other mustache aficionados, future growers and supporters, learn about the great things we’re doing with M4K this year, or simply relax. If you are unsure if Mustaches for Kids is for you, this is great opportunity to come meet some of the characters you may find yourself growing with or supporting. If you are already committed to being a grower or enthusiast for the growing season, we will have grower kits and other chotchke’s so you can start spreading the mustache word right away.

What should you do to satisfy that intense desire for giving? That cold, tingling feeling under your nose? That void in your heart that’s screaming "must help kids"? That empty sense from not being a part of a cause?
If you find yourself asking questions like this, you know it’s time for your yearly dose of Mustaches for Kids. We are pleased to announce the 3RD ANNUAL MUSTACHES FOR KIDS GROWING CAMPAIGN. Last year, you, our devoted mustachees, raised $7,000 for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center through 40 dedicated growers and support from countless mustache enthusiasts. In 2010 we have expectations of eclipsing our 2009 fundraising total through more growers, more mustaches, and more loyal supporters.
Consider this your official call-to-’stache, a rallying cry for those dormant whiskers and that sense of charity and righteousness within us all!
Many of you participated last year, and I’m sure your upper lips have been tingling with anticipation. For others who are new to this mustache growing thing, just check out a brief summary of Who We Are or browse our m4khartford website. You too can benefit Connecticut’s children through mustache greatness.
Growers: the impact we make and money we raise is directly proportionally to how many sweet, sexy mustaches are seen growing around Hartford. Register your upper lip today! Tell your friends, they’ll be jealous and want to join as well.
Enthusiasts: Remember, the Mustache is more in the heart than on the face. As a stache enthusiast, we need you to get out the word, support your fellow growers in their brave endeavor, and help raise/contribute money for the kids. Your support is as critical to this year’s success as the growers. If you’d also like to get involved with the planning that goes into promoting this cause, please reply back.
Clean Shave day is scheduled for November 17th, 3 weeks from today! So register soon. More Event Dates can be found online.
Now start spreading the word. Just remember, "A single hair is nothing on its own, but united they form a mighty Mustache!"
